Sunny weekend ahead to enjoy Gwinnett safety festival

The weekend’s forecast calls for clear, cool skies and it’s going to be a great time to enjoy the Gwinnett Public Safety Festival.

Hosted by the Gwinnett County Police Department and the Gwinnett County Department of Fire and Emergency Services, the event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 28 at Coolray Field, home of the Gwinnett Braves.

The free activities will include fire trucks, police motorcycle and helicopter displays, safety training demonstrations, kids’ activities, pet adoptions, and a softball face-off between Gwinnett County police officers and firefighters.

With Fire Prevention Week just around the corner — Oct. 6 through Oct.  12 — and highlighting kitchen fire safety, we highly encourage parents and children to discuss the best ways to prevent fires at home and we think this event is a great way to start that conversation.

Integrated Fire Protection will keep you updated throughout Fire Prevention Week with tips and information about our services, our people and the ways we can earn your business as the life safety professionals.
