Safe Harbor Yes

safe-harborOne of the characteristics of Integrated Fire Protection that sets us apart is our understanding that the foundation of our industry is not only to provide superior products and customer service, but it’s also the desire to protect innocent lives from danger; whether accidental or intentional. That means, for Integrated Fire Protection, “life safety” isn’t exclusive to fire protection services.

That’s why we are so active in local charities like Safeway Children’s Charities and Georgia Firefighters Burn Foundation. We take a stand, as a company, against domestic minor sex trafficking as a member of the End It Movement, a sponsor of Public Service Commissioner Tim Echols’ Unholy Tours, and as supporters of the Safe Harbor constitutional amendment.  We take a stand on these issues because we believe that, together, we can make a difference in our State and do good works for those who are in need or who have been victimized.

Integrated Fire Protection is asking you to stand with us on November 8th and go to the polls to vote YES on constitutional amendment question #2 for the Safe Harbor fund. You’ll see it at the end of your ballot after you’ve cast your votes for federal, state, and local candidates.

The Safe Harbor fund will solidify in our State Constitution additional penalties for exploiting minors for sex and will collect a fee from adult entertainment venues, where data shows the majority of sexual trafficking is focused. This will be used to create a fund that will provide care and services for sex trafficking victims. This amendment will be a step in the right direction for Georgia to serve those who are in need.

The language of the amendment will read as follows:

“Shall the Constitution of Georgia be amended to allow additional penalties for criminal cases in which a person is adjudged guilty of keeping a place of prostitution, pimping, pandering, pandering by compulsion, solicitation of sodomy, masturbation for hire, trafficking of persons for sexual servitude, or sexual exploitation of children and to allow assessments on adult entertainment establishments to fund the Safe Harbor for Sexually Exploited Children Fund to pay for care and rehabilitative and social services for individuals in this state who have been or may be sexually exploited?”

When you see this question, all you have to do is vote YES. Regardless of which party you register with, who you vote for as President, or whether you vote for anything else, together, we can make a difference for these children. We’ll see you at the polls on November 8th!
