Lights, camera, action!

In the film industry, we understand just how important safety is.  From the lighting setups, camera equipment, props and elaborate stages, film production can be an expensive business to say the least.  One oversight could cause significant delays and potentially tarnish your company’s successful reputation.  Here are a couple of recommendations that we believe will keep your film production, talent and sound stages safe and secure:

First, make sure that all members of the crew know the hazards that can be encountered and how to effectively handle them safely.  One way to do this is by having a safety meeting at the beginning of each day.  In this meeting, the First Assistant Director can point out where the Fire Safety Equipment is located on-set and how to utilize it correctly.  While this may seem like an unimportant or mundane task, safety must be the first priority and heightening awareness is a great place to start.

Second, we recommend that you have Fire Extinguishers on-set at all times.  Film lights reach temperatures hot enough to set curtains on fire, not to mention the special effects that are likely to be a part of the filming.  Fire spreads quickly and you may only have a few short minutes to extinguish the fire before it is out of control.  Placing Certified Fire Extinguishers by the lighting equipment will allow your cast and crew to rest assured knowing safety is a high priority.
